Shannon Sexton served as a felony prosecutor, known in Kentucky as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, in three different Kentucky jurisdictions - Jefferson, Kenton, and Campbell Counties for a period of five years. In Jefferson County, the largest jurisdiction in Kentucky, he practiced for two years in the Narcotics Unit, handling thousands of felony drug cases. For another year in Louisville, he practiced in the General Trial Unit, where he prosecuted the entire range of felonies and accompanying misdemeanors. In Kenton County, he was the lead prosecutor for the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force. In Campbell County, he continued to prosecute the entire range of felonies and accompanying misdemeanors. Shannon Sexton has litigated all classes of felonies and misdemeanors. He has litigated a large amount of major cases including Burglary, Rape, Robbery, Assault, Murder, Child Sex Abuse, "Cold Cases", etc. One of Shannon Sexton's cases was featured on national television, A&E's Cold Case Files. In addition to his trial experience, Shannon Sexton has served as a professor in the area of litigation skills at two separate Kentucky law schools, and served as an advisor to the University of Cincinnati College of Law in the area of litigation skills.
